Requirements
- A ClickFunnels account
- An existing domain
Step-by-step Walkthrough
From the Site & Funnels menu, select Domains and click on the Connect Existing Domain button.
Enter the existing domain in the blank field and click continue.
Be sure to include the subdomain at the beginning.
Once the domain registrar information populates, click the Add Domain button.
To manually add the records, click on the “Clicking here” link.
A DNS records area will show; click on Show DNS table.
You will be provided a TXT record that needs to be added to your domain registrar.
Inside your domain registrar, create a TXT record. For the Host, add an @, and for Value, add the text provided in the DNS table.
We are using Namecheap as a domain registrar for this example.
Once you have added the TXT record, go back to ClickFunnels and click on Validate Ownership.
DNS records can take up to 48 hours to propagate and validate. You may need to wait for the information to update before trying to click the “Validate ownership” button again.
Once the ownership of the domain has been verified, the domain status will change to Securing. (SSL can take up to 48 hours to complete)
Click on Show DNS table.
You will be given additional records to add to your domain registrar.
Here is an example of how the TXT and CNAME records should be added using Namecheap.
Back on your ClickFunnels account, click on Check connection.
You will see a confirmation message saying Connection was verified. That means that the domain was successfully added.
Troubleshooting
- A domain registrar or DNS provider does not support
TXT
records longer than 255 characters.- ClickFunnels uses a 2048-bit DKIM
TXT
record, which is longer than some domain registrars will support. In this case, please use a different DNS provider, such as Cloudflare, to manage your domain’s DNS records. Please see Cloudflare’s documentation for more details.
