Setting Up a Workflow’s Trigger

Andrew B

This article will cover information on Workflow Triggers. These are events that occur that activate the Workflow.

Prior to getting started, you will need to have the following:

  • A Workflow

Adding a Trigger to your Workflow:

After creating a Workflow, the following popup will appear. Click on Add a Trigger to create a new trigger.

Turning your Workflow ON and OFF:

The Active toggle will determine if your Workflow trigger is on or off. When it is off, the trigger will not activate.

Event Types:

The Event Type will allow you to select what actions will trigger the Workflow.

Currently, there are four Event Types. Below explains each type:

  1. Calendar Event - Contact Registered: The Workflow will activate when a customer registers for a calendar event on your workspace. When you select this option, you will need to select Funnel and Page the Calendar event is located on in the drop-down menus, along with the specific Calendar Event on that page, as seen below…

  2. Order - Successful Purchase: The Workflow activates when a customer makes a purchase on a page on your workspace. If you select this option, you will need to select the Funnel and Page via the drop-down menus of where you would like this Event Type to be placed.

  3. Optin: The Workflow activates when a customer opts into a page on your workspace. If you select this option, you will need to select the Funnel and Page via the drop-down menus of where you would like this Event Type to be placed.

  4. Pageview: The Workflow activates when a customer views a page on your workspace. If you select this option, you will need to select the Funnel and Page via the drop-down menus of where you would like this Event Type to be placed.

Creating or Cancelling the Trigger:

After you are done setting up your Trigger, press Create Trigger button at the bottom of the popup to create it. Or click the Discard button to cancel the creation of the trigger.

Congratulations! You now know how to set up a Workflow’s Trigger!
